Machiavellianism

Machiavellianism means the political theory of Florentine Statesman and writer, Niccolo Machiavelli;especially the view that politics is amoral and that any means however unscrupulous can justifiably be used in achieving political power.

It basically means when someone would do anything to keep their political hold.

Simply, Machiavellinism is the political doctrine of Machiavell, which denies the relevance of morality in political affairs and holds that craft and deceit are justified in pursuing and maintaining political power.
